FRUSTRATING BUT GOOD?

From what I have read so far in a couple of forums I see that other people are having the same impression that I am. Prior to FIFA 11, I have always been an above average player. Always winning more then 3/4 of my games. I have played 37 games on FIFA 11 and my record is 19-18...I was very frustrated with myself and trying to figure out what I am doing wrong but I can't get around it. So I am wondering if this is a positive of the game that has somewhat leveled out the playing field?. Is anyone feeling the same? Like you were a better player on FIFA 10? Losing games that you should win?... Just a thought... I am not complaining but it is frustrating.|||thing is mate everyone expects to win all their games and when they dont they moan about how * the game is. I won 100+ games on fifa 10 and lost like 12, i thought it was great that i lost because at least i could be beaten and tbh it spurred me on to win my next games. People that moan about the game just can't handle the fact that they are utter pants at it. Good luck playing coz i have to wait till bloody 12 tonight f****K time just goes so bloody slow
:)|||Well, I think its just a matter of time until the better players draw the line. It really is a lot harder to create chances and score goals now. But I'm sure with time we shall all get used to it. Its like the feeling I had when I first played Fifa World cup|||I do.
It's because of the new pressure/tackling system, player get so much aid from the CPU when defending, that even a mediocre player can stop you from winning the game.
Tackle is so much overpowered that, you become invisible from game's point of view.

See? I clearly had the advantage there I touched the ball away from him, yet the defender (my brother) just pressed X to make me invisible and stole the ball like I wasn't even there (my foot went through the ball).
And it happens so often, I watched dozens of situations like that in slow motion, prescripted tackling.|||

It looks like you were far ahead when chasing for the ball bt chose to stop and shield the ball and you failed to control it, itactually l,ooks liek youtr player sidestepped away from the ball to allow him to get in there and take it from you. Thats just what I saw|||Like i said...I am not complaining at all. I do enjoy the challenge of the game being harder and losing. It is just that every year I try to get off to a good start and every year I did very well. I remember when i started off FIFA 10 I went 32-2 at one point. Big drop to 19-18... But I guess with time the line WILL be drawn.
PS: Fells nice to start off the leaderboards before the BRITS for once! MUAHAHA|||

I didn't step over, my foot went through the ball.
Tackle button is overpowered. It follows you no matter what.

Now don't tell me those players shouldn't have bumped into each other.
|||Nothing personal to OP but this is exactly why EA will never make FIFA a true sim - players mostly care about winning above all else. If little William can't win 80% of his matches he'll likely become frustrated, toss his controller, race to the boards to complain that the game must be pants cuz he can't bag 5 goals every match and eventually swear off FIFA.
Personally I don't see what the point of playing a game is if you're winning the majority of the time - without the incessant threat and occurence of losing, what fun really is winning? Kind of like fishing in a barrel. But then I'm an old sod now so I've seen that winning really isn't everything in life and that enjoying yourself is the main thing.
Anyhow, carry on -|||

I completely agree, I haven't played the game yet, but I'm thrilled to hear that is has become more difficult to win. Makes the thrill of winning and scoring goals even better.
However, i do have one concern. Is it more difficult because the opposition plays better football, or because the CPU decides it's going to be more difficult? In past FIFA's, an increase in difficulty meant that every call was going to go against you, the CPU AI did things that weren't possible for you, the ball never bounced your way, etc. Basically, a scripted outcome where it was more frustrating than challenging because the CPU was pretty much cheating, does that make sense?
So in FIFA 11, is it more challenging, or frustrating because the CPU is "cheating"?|||this game is good, but yes it is quite frustrating. i like to see the ebb and flow of the match. HOWEVER, i'm a bit curious if the ebb and flow is due to players battling it out through skill, or if the game creates the ebb and flow. sometimes the momentum just seems a little tooo random to be user controlled. extremely extremely frustrating, as i sometimes feel that i don't have 'control' over the game like I did in FIFA 10 and WC.
for example, played 4 online matches last night. drew every single one of them. i dominated in shots on target and possession. my opponent scored very 'unlikely' goals. and they always seemed to get the last goal or last couple of goals in the final minutes. either my defensive line all got narcolepsy, couldn't tackle, or my GK would botch an easy save. in one game in particular, my opponent had 4 shots on goal...and each one went in. 2 were GK error, 2 goals were scored on passes that magically went through 3 of my defenders. makes me frustrated just thinking about it.|||

I have the game, and I'm beginning to worry about that myself.|||

I hope you mean "control" you had over the game online, because offline once you go above Professional difficulty, Fifa 10 and WC were terrible at controlling the flow of the game, especially WC I had the most frustrating offline experience when going up in difficulty when I got tired of winning 5-0 on Pro. I wonder when EA will be able to make a more challenging experience without the controlling aspect.|||http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/38874209
Teleport?
See, tackle is overpowered.|||That is my main concern with the game... It seems like the game picks and chooses when momentum will go to either team...Most of the games I have lost were last minute goals where my defenders have multiple chances to clear the ball but don't ...or a stupid mistake... I still enjoy playing the game but again, VERY FRUSTRATING|||

I'm not simply defending the game (think it's fairly enjoyable and an improvement over 10) - but isn't what you describe here actual footy? I've watched countless matches where momentum swings quite inexplicably and even more where a missed clearance or stupid mistake spells out the result.
The best side or the side that plays the best doesn't always win in real life and often for no apparent reason other than things just didn't go their way on the day. I think I'd rather have a video footy game that reflects that and is quite unpredictable than one where if you play well you know you'll win everytime. Of course it's frustrating, but that's football mate!
