120 minutes?

So, playing career mode (or not really playing it because I'm constantly being dropped with nothing else to do :) ), but the current game is Man Utd vs Newcastle (I'm Newcastle) in the League Cup second round. Obviously I've seen the fail alphabetical cup draw bug, but the strange thing is that the game was simulated and finished after 120 minutes - that would suggest they went to extra time - when in fact it was 2-1 after 90 minutes. Is it safe to assume that's another little glitch? Nothing happened in those last 30 minutes, which would suggest the game had acknowledged the correct end time but just continued playing for another half hour, or something like that. It isn't a big deal at the moment for me, but for managers who sim games a lot, will that extra 30 minutes make players extra tired because it can't end the game at the right time?
